I was head to Colorado Springs after work in Denver. The rain started to come down hard. I went about 3 miles and pull off under a gas station covering. I waited for about 1/2 hour and head back down the road. It started raining again. I pull off under an overpass. I wanted to get off the road and went into the dirt. Bad idea! The bike sank into the sandy dirt. I started to loose the bike. I struggled to keep from dropping it. Two truck drivers pull over and helped me lift the bike up and we managed to put it back on the concrete. I could not beleive that someone would actually stop and help. It was awesome. I waited another 20 minutes and I was back on the road. I got about 20 miles away from Colorado Springs and pull off for another 20 minutes. Five other motorcyclists pulled under the overpass and we talked about our bikes and jobs. We decided to head down the road and it started to hail. By this time I was already soaked. Did I mention that I did not have rain gear? I was about 5 miles away from my exit and it started to sleet. I did make it home safe! But it was an experience. I think it has made me a better rider. A scared one too.
